Development Resuming In A Week.
Right now, I'm in a hotel in Puerto Rico, with enough WiFi to write this, lmao.
Anyway, I'll probably be back in a week or a little longer, and it will be a few days to finish v.0.1.9, which will feature:
- Extended Demo - You'll be able to see the bad ending once more, and skipping days will be added. As long as you don't
- A basic concept for a prologue. It'll be playable in the beginning, but you can go to the Challenge Mode menu to replay it, and get a hi-score!
- A (semi) functional File Select. Only one file will work, but I'm working on a feature to see the current stats for each file. It's going good, I think...
- Somebody made some really awesome box art for the game, which is super cool, so I'm going to make the pellets tan, sort of like they are in the box art. I'm also going to try to inspire a ton of the graphics on
- A new system for Pikmin. This was planned since v.0.1.1, but it would overcomplicate everything, but now that I've remade the entire game from scratch, it seems like a good time. The idea is that each Pikmin type will get a single shared pallet, which will change depending on the type, as to make room for more detail (more colors on ship parts and enemies.)
- A Day System, complete with time and days. The days will be much shorter than in the OG game, as the current plan calls for 5 minute days. Since the maps are easier to navigate, in my opinion, it would be OP if you were given 15 or 20 minutes.
- Nectar Grass. Finally, you'll be able to get flowered up. Sprouts won't grow, so you'll need the nectar. Also, since the ship won't heal you, Nectar can heal you instead! If you have no Pikmin in your squad, you'll heal 1 Health! (Nectar isn't guaranteed to be added in game!)
Now, you may think this is super ambitious for just a single update, which it is, but quite a few features were already implemented in previous versions, (such as an unreleased v0.1.4, v0.1.5, and v0.1.6), such as the day system and playable prologue.
As soon as v.0.1.9 is out, I'll also make a poll, and see what you guys want in or out of the game. Some possible questions would be "should Nectar heal the player too?" or "Should the Swooping Snitchbug return?"
I have no clue if Pikmin: Demade should closer to the original, or should have it's own quirks and such, so it seems smart to ask you guys!

Lookin' forward to it! I like the idea of it being a true de-make but am def open to a few quirks too
