Improved Release Date and More!
I'm moving the release date to December 26th, just to make sure the demo is good. Also, I may use that time to add a ton of new content, like
- Completed Forest of Hope (before it was just going to be a layout. But it's still not going to have anything but where things are, no Enemy AI or anything yet)
- A Challenge Mode preview
- Day Cycle. Each day is 6 minutes long, make the most of it!
- Finalized Map Select
- Improved OST
Anyway, I also have the basic map layout of the Forest of Hope for you guys (:
Just a simple preview of the layout, no spoilers. Also, some things may change as the map is made,maybe more parts of the map, different pathways, etc.
The Forest of Hope is meant to be kind of Like a forest maze, a little hard to navigate, but filled to the brim with things to do and see. There's shortcuts you can use to save time.
Also, this project is kind of meant to be a combination of the first and second game, and a bit of my own ideas. I have a list of ideas I have:
- Sub-Areas you can access during your adventure, where you can find upgrades, new enemies, and sometimes even new
- Post-Game content! You can return to the planet to finish collecting parts, access new areas, fight new bosses in old areas!
- Hard Mode. After you beat the game with all 30 parts, you can play hard mode. Enemies will need more hits to be defeated, Onions won't produce as many Pikmin, and
- Tower Defense-like minigame! Louie read Olimar's report on the Distant Planet, and decided to check it out for himself. However, his job is getting in his way of exploring the planet, so he can only explore at Night, and close to the ship. He must make sure he can defend himself, the ship, and the treasures he can find inside the enemies! Louie enlists the help of the new Pikmin types that can only be used at night! His goal is to collect enough treasure to pay for his own exotic cooking show! (Concept subject to change)
- Challenge Mode! Explore Small Caves and try to grow as many Pikmin as you can, while trying to find the exit! See how deep you can get to before you run out of time! You start each sublevel with 10 Pikmin, and you start Challenge mode with 8 minutes
- Open Source on Github after full release.
- All versions will be available on Github, each built version, and each prototype version before I made the current version (There's 4!! I'm not good at deciding on a style and stuff, lol)
Anyway, after the demo, I want to create a layout of the Forest Navel, then I'll kinda go quiet while I work on other projects, keeping this just in the background.
